RIVER KING PHOTOGRAPHY

Great Passion for Nature

I had lived in Langley for a little while and I saw the beautiful country side all the times, but had never driven around to capture the beauty.  Until after I left there, I actually went there and got some photos, how ironic!  But yesterday was a warm and nice day, and still felt like we are in the summer, so I took the advantage of the weather and drove around with a friend who knows the place well.  I only shot a few pictures as I was not completely ready to shoot this type of scenery so it was kinda aimless.  I am sure I will shoot more in the future and comes up with a better album.

While I was going through my old photos shot in USA, I found this picture.  I remember that was taken in 2001 somewhere in South Florida.  I really like this shot especially the water splash as the background.   I have never gotten any similar photo like this since then.

As promised, I am posting some random photos from my old days in USA.  A lot of them were shot with slides film and some are back to early 2000.  Enjoy.

I liked the idea of gathering some random photos of BC, so I’m going to continue this idea, but this time will be the photos of USA.  I will take sometime going through a lot of my photos and organize an album called “Beautiful USA”.   Stay tuned and it should be online sometime next week!

This past Monday was the British Columbia Day.  I have been living in BC for over three years, and have shot quite some photos around lower mainland.  Many of these photos were posted, but some were not.  I’m taking this opportunity to post some photos that were taken in BC and they are presented in random order.  Enjoy!

Now you can order prints of my work as the service is already up and running.  Since this is a new service, so I would like to offer a 25% discount for the first 20 orders.  Currently there are only four galleries available for ordering prints, but I will add more in the next few weeks.  You can also send me a request of any image you see on this site.  The coupon code is NSD25-100728, you will need this to get the discount.

Nature photography has been the greatest passion in my life and I certainly will not commercialize such a passion.  This “prints for sale” service is only for anyone who would like a copy of my work.  I have no pressure to sell my work, nor should you be pressured to purchase anything from this site.   Of course if you like my work and would like to show me support, feel free to order some prints! :)

Grand Canyon was my dream place to visit, the next would be Hawaii.  Something very unfortunate just happened at the time, and it was definitely a needed trip to get away and relax a little bit.  My stay in Hawaii was not long at all for only three days but I got a nice peak of it.  It was the first time for me trying to shoot a set of photos and produce them in panoramic format.  At the time, the software capability is extremely limited but luckily I kept all of the original files so I can process them with better and more powerful software.  You will see three panoramic photos in this gallery and all of them were processed today.

These photos were taken quite a while ago but I’m going to post them today.   I am always saying the nature is the greatest painter, and this group of photos can demonstrate how good the nature is.   The color in most these photos are not saturated, giving you some what peaceful and cool feeling.

I’m certainly not a pro when it comes to the website design.  For two years I had been using Apple’s iWeb to design and maintain this site but it was just too complicated and time consuming for what I wanted to be like.  Since I wanted to make a two-language-version blog, it took so much work to make a new post with gallery.  But this mess has been ended since yesterday.  After taking a good friend’s advise, I switched to use Word Press.  Not trying to advertise for them, but it is indeed much efficient to use.  Posting an update with gallery now only takes less than 10 minutes vs. before it would take over 30minutes.   My Facebook page will be acting more of an announcement page.  We are having a very best summer in 2010 so I am going to shoot more photos, and you will see more updates here too.  If you are in the area and have some good suggestion on a good photo spot, please drop me a comment and let me know!

Another two months passed by and I haven’t been in the mood to shoot photos.  Talked to my friend today and he motivated me to go somewhere to get photos.  Great cloud formation is everywhere today so it would be nice to take some pictures near the water.  So we chose the Deer Lake in Burnaby.  I’m very pleased with these pictures.
