On our second day in Iceland, we spent nearly ten hours driving from Kirkjubaejarklaustur to Hofn. We set out around 10 a.m. in warm and sunny weather, but by the time we arrived in Hofn, we had experienced a dramatic shift from spring to winter. The highlight of the day was witnessing the breathtaking natural beauty that Iceland has to offer – glaciers, a blue ice lagoon, a black-sand beach, and even a rainbow. It was truly one of the most beautiful road trips I have ever taken.
